Because One Job Just Isn’t Enough for Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.
In January 2020, Snoop Dogg temporarily joined the ranks of America’s donut elite—not as a franchise owner or celebrity spokesperson, but as an actual Dunkin’ Donuts employee. Donning the iconic Dunkin’ visor and uniform, Snoop participated in a promotional stunt in which he served customers behind the counter at a Los Angeles location to unveil the debut of the “Beyond D-O-Double G Sandwich.”
This breakfast invention substituted traditional meat with plant-based sausage from Beyond Meat, and was served on—not a bagel, not an English muffin—but a glazed donut. Snoop’s contribution to the sandwich was not culinary in nature, but spiritual in essence. As the company’s “brand ambassador” for Beyond Meat products, he lent his likeness, signature slang, and an air of unbothered coolness to the vegan-forward initiative.
Customers entering the store were greeted by Snoop personally. He handed out sandwiches, posed for selfies, and, according to eyewitnesses, referred to the donut sandwich as “straight snackin’.” Employees reportedly did not receive prior warning that the Drop It Like It’s Hot artist would be clocking in that day. It was, for a brief moment, the most exciting thing to happen behind a Dunkin’ counter outside of a new cup size release.
This event is part of a broader portfolio of food-related endeavors by Snoop Dogg, which includes a cookbook with Martha Stewart, a recurring role as master of ceremonies at the Los Angeles County Fair food pavilion, and a Guinness World Record for mixing the world’s largest gin and juice.
No word yet on whether Snoop included the Dunkin’ shift on his resumé. However, it stands as another entry in the ever-expanding résumé of inexplicable yet formally documented Snoop Dogg career choices.
