Snoop Dogg Once Held a Guinness World Record for the Largest Paradise Cocktail

In 2018, Snoop Dogg Led an Effort to Mix a 500-Liter Gin and Juice on Stage While Wearing a Fur Coat

On May 26, 2018, at the BottleRock Napa Valley Music Festival, the artist known as Snoop Dogg took a brief interlude from his musical career to achieve a higher purpose: setting the Guinness World Record for the largest gin and juice cocktail ever recorded. The endeavor appears to have been inspired not only by his 1994 classic hit ‘Gin and Juice,’ but by a heartfelt commitment to fruit garnish.

The cocktail, which measured over 132 gallons (500 liters), was engineered onstage in a three-foot tall glass complete with an oversized green cocktail umbrella and a striped straw. The beverage was a blend of gin, apricot brandy, and orange juice, matching the specifications of the aptly named ‘Paradise’ cocktail. Multiple bartenders and event crew assisted with the logistical elements, including pouring hundreds of gallons of alcohol and juice into the gravity-defying glass.

Snoop Dogg was joined in this operation by fellow rapper Warren G and Top Chef winner Michael Voltaggio, who presumably oversaw the quality control process. Snoop dressed for the occasion in a full-length fur coat, sunglasses, and an expression of unflinching professionalism, as if industrial-scale mixology was a daily obligation.

Guinness World Records, an organization that has historically validated feats like ‘Largest Collection of Traffic Cones’ and ‘Most Times a Dog Skipped a Rope in One Minute,’ confirmed the record shortly after the cocktail’s completion. The drink was not consumed by festival attendees for logistical and probably legal reasons, but its symbolic value remained potent.

Snoop Dogg’s gin and juice world record stands not only as a tribute to his musical legacy, but also as a reminder that with enough liquor, citrus, and commercial-grade bar equipment, dreams can be scaled to any size.
